If you are going to buy a satellite finder or a satellite dB meter and if you are confused about which one you should buy or not, then here we will tell you the difference between a satellite finder and a satellite dB meter.

Know What is The Satellite Finder & how it works?:

An analog or digital satellite finder works the same which connects to a satellite dish, and as you move the dish, the meter detects the satellite’s signal strength or spectrum. The finder shows the satellite signal strength and the direction of the satellite. But nobody knows which satellite is found by a satellite finder but This information helps anyone who uses a satellite dish on a home or camper when setting up or adjusting a dish randomly.

Satellite Finders –

This means the satellite finder can find the satellite’s position and its strength but in this device, you can not check transponder signals and satellite names. It will take more time to find the actual satellite that you are looking for because every time you have to scan your satellite receiver to check the satellite, frequencies, and available channels.
Satellite Finder for All the DTH and Satellite TV Signals

These are satellite Finders, not dB meters. It can find satellite signals but can not read dB or signal quantity.

For example – If You have found the satellite Strength by using a satellite finder then you will scan your set-top box to check channels. But if you are receiving different channels that you were not looking for, Then you will search the same channel on the internet to get satellite information. After that, you would know which satellite you found and what is the current position of your dish antenna. So it is time time-consuming device but your problem will be solved. So don’t worry.

Satellite dB Meters –

In other ways, if you are using a satellite dB meter and connected to the dish antenna then this device will find the signal of the particular transponder of a known satellite. You can find signals with satellite names and frequencies. Also, you can check the signal level of every frequency available on the satellite. You do need to scan your set-top box again and again. So it is a time-saving device, so that’s why for commercial purposes all shopkeepers and DTH installers use it. Difference between Satellite Finder & Satellite dB Meter? Which one you should buy? If you are a home user then you should go with satellite finder because it comes with the lowest price but the satellite dB meter is costly, and mainly used for commercial purposes (DTH Installation works).
