As you know DTH Portability is also included in PM Digital India Mission or Digitization. Mr. Prakash Javadekar said in 2018, to the media that DTH portability is also part of Digital India and they are working on it.
However, till today 2023 is about to end, this facility has not been available. Currently, the CPE of any one DTH does not work with any other, nor has any such facility been started.

What is DTH Portability –
Interoperability is provided through which a customer would be able to change their cable operator or DTH service provider without requiring a new STB. the recommendation is based on the idea that the non-interoperability of STBs is depriving customers of the freedom to change their service provider.

What is the Problem?
Currently, DTH and Cable users are right now using unique set-top boxes, meant only for a specific cable and DTH operator. So It is a big technical issue.
What is a CAM Module? –
Dish TV first introduced the Dish Freedom Cam Module Card which can use any CAM Module CAM-supported set-top Box, but due to a lack of cam module-supported TV boxes. It did not become so popular. But it was a great Idea.
