Installing the Batteries

  • Remove the battery cover from the Remote Control and put 2xAAA size
  • batteries inside the compartment. The diagram inside the Battery
  • The compartment shows the correct way to install the batteries.

 

Using the Remote Control

To use the Remote Control, point it towards the front of the Digital Set Top Box. The Remote Control has a range of up to 7 meters from the Set-Top Box at an angle of up to 60 degrees.

The Remote Control will not operate if its path is blocked.

HDS2-21003 Connections

Caution: Make sure to check the voltage specification of the wall outlet is the same rating as the receiver. To prevent the risk of electric shock, do not open the cover or the back of the receiver.

Note: When connecting the receiver to other equipment, make sure to refer to the relevant user manual for instruction. Also, make sure you disconnect all the equipment from the mains supply before the connection.

Channel List

Users can enter the TV or Radio channel list window from the main menu.
To exit from the current menu, press the [Menu]/[Exit] key.

FAV

In the Main Menu / TV or Radio Channel List window, press [Fav] to add the desired channel into Fav Group.’

LOCK

When the TV or Radio Channel List window displays, press the Red key to enter the Lock edit mode. Then press [OK]. A password entering dialog appears. Enter the correct password. The dialog will disappear. Then, users can edit the Lock status of selected channels.

SKIP

When the TV or Radio Channel List window displays, press the Green key to enter the Skip edit mode. Then, press [OK] to set up (or cancel) Skip.

In the full-screen display status, users can not switch to the skipped channel by pressing the [Up/Down] key. However, users can select the skipped channel by number keys or switch to the skipped channel in the channel list or 9-picture screen.

MOVE

When the TV or Radio Channel List window displays, press the Yellow key to enter the Move edit mode. Highlight the channel to be moved and press [OK] to mark the channel with a Move icon. Then, press [Yellow key] and press [Up/Down] to move the selected channel to the target position.

SORT

Press the Blue key in the Channel List window to enter the edit status and then press the Red key to start sorting.

1. Name (A-Z): Sorted in alphabetic order of channel name’s initial letter from A to Z with the channel names starting with uppercase letters before the channel names starting with lowercase letters.

2. Name (Z-A): Sorted in alphabetic order of channel name’s initial letter from Z to A with the channel names starting with uppercase letters before the channel names starting with lowercase letters.

3. FTA/$: All FTA channels are listed before the encrypted channels.

4. Lock: All channels with lock marks are listed following the channels without lock marks.

Default: Sorted according to the channels’ saving order. (When [Sort By Default] is selected, the channel list will be sorted in channels’ initial saving order even though the order of channels has been changed by Move operation.)

RENAME

When the TV or Radio Channel List window displays, press the Blue key to enter the Edit screen. Then press the Green key to rename the channels.

DELETE

When the TV or Radio Channel List window displays, press the Blue key to enter the Edit mode. Then, press the Blue key to delete the channels.

Installation

Users can add / edit/delete and search the Satellites /TPs in the Main Menu / Installation window. Press [Menu]/[Exit] to exit from the current menu.

Satellite List

Press [Left/Right] to move the highlight from the satellite list on the left side to the satellite parameter area at the right side. Press [Menu]/[Exit] to return to the left-side satellite list.

When a satellite is highlighted, press [OK] to select or de-select the satellite. Press [Info] to select or de-select all satellites.

Edit Satellite

Press the Green key to enter the Edit Satellite menu in which the satellite name, longitude direction, and longitude angle can be modified.

Add Satellite

Press the Red key to add a satellite and edit the new satellite’s name, longitude direction and longitude angle.

Delete Satellite

Press the Yellow key or [Del] key to enter the DEL mode.

Scan Satellite

Press the Blue key to enter the Satellite Search menu as shown as below:

Single Satellite Search: When ‘Single Satellite Search’ is selected, highlight the Satellite field to select a satellite to be searched.

FTA Only: Select Yes or No in this field.

Yes: Only search FTA channels

No: Search FTA and encrypted channels.

Scan Channel: Select TV+Radio, TV Channel, or Radio Channel in this field.

Scan Mode: Select Blind Scan or Full Scan in this field.

Search: Highlight ‘Search’ and press the [OK] or [Right] key to enter the search menu and start searching channels.

Transponder

Highlight a satellite in the Satellite List and press the [GOTO] key. The TP list including all TPs for the satellite will display as shown in the right figure:

Press the [Up/Down] key to move the highlight in the TP list. Press the [Right/Left] key to switch to the satellite parameter area on the right side. Press [Menu] to switch back to the left side.

Press [GOTO] in the TP list window to return to the satellite list window.

Edit TP

Press the Green key (Edit) to enter the Edit window in which the download frequency, symbol rate, and polarity can be modified.

Add TP

Press the Red key [Add] to add a new satellite and edit the Freq/SR/Pol of the new satellite.

Delete TP

Press the Yellow key [Delete] to enter the delete window. delete the specified Frequency point by pressing the Yellow key or delete all Frequency points by pressing the Blue key.

Scan TP

Under the TP interface, press the Blue key to enter the TP Search window, Choose Scan Mode:

1)Normal’ – Search a certain program transmitted by the current TP according to the specified conditions; ‘PID’ – Search the program with the specified PID.

2) FTA Only:

Yes – Only search FTA channels;

No – Search FTA and encrypted channels.

3) Scan Channel:

Select TV+ Radio, TV Channel, or Radio in this field.

4) Network Search:

Yes – Perform NIT searching;

No – Do not perform NIT searching.

5) Search:

Press [OK] to start searching.

Satellite Parameter

DiSEqC1.2

  • Press the [Right] key to move the highlight to the satellite parameter list on the right side.
  • When ‘LNB Freq’ is set to ‘Unicable’, the menu will change as follows:
  • 22K: When ‘LNB Freq’ is set to the item other than ‘Universal’, users can select On/Off by pressing the [Left/Right] key. Only when ‘LNB Freq’ is set to ‘Universal’, ‘Auto’ will be selected and grayed out automatically in this field.
  • Motor: The default setting is ‘None’ (fixed antenna). If ‘DiSEqC1.2’ or ‘USALS’ is selected, the Motor function is supported.
  • When ‘DiSEqC1.2’ or ‘USALS’ is selected in the ‘Motor Setup’ field,

The other parameters mentioned above (such as LNB Type, Polarity, 22K, DiSEqC1.0, DiSEqC1.1) shall be unchanged; When returning to this window from the DiSEqC1.2 or USALS antenna parameter menu, these satellite parameters shall be still unchanged.

  • The on-screen display when DiSEqC1.2 is selected is shown as follows:

Function & operation:

  • Highlight ‘DiSEqC1.2’ and press [OK] to enter the DiSEqC1.2 antenna parameter setup window.
  • To switch satellites, return to the previous menu, re-select a satellite and then enter the DiSEqC1.2 setup menu again. Note that the Motor rotator can only be used for the currently used satellite.
  • Position No. & Save Select ‘Position No.’.
  • Highlight ‘Go to X’ and press [OK] to turn the antenna to the specified position.
  • Highlight ‘Save’ and press the [Left] ([Right]) key once to turn the antenna towards the west (east).
  • Select ‘Save’ and press [OK] to save the position.
  • Select ‘Recalculation’ and press [OK]. A dialog indicating ‘Are you sure re-calculate all satellite positions?’ appears. Click [Yes] to perform the calculation again and exit from the dialog, or click ‘No’ to exit from the dialog without performing the calculation.
  • 8) In the satellite parameter list, when ‘DiSEqC1.2’ is selected in the ‘Motor Setup’ field, press the functional key [Delete All].

A dialog ‘Are you sure to clear set satellite positions of this tuner?’ appears. Click [Yes] to delete all positions, or click [No] not to delete any position.

USALS

  1. The on-screen display, when ‘USALS’ is selected, is shown as follows
  2. Highlight ‘USALS’ and press [OK] to enter the Antenna Setup menu

Limit Setup

When ‘DiSEqC1.2’ or ‘USALS’ is selected in the ‘Motor Setup’ field, press the Red key to enter the Limit Setup menu.

Function & operation:

Limit Selection: Select the Limit setting.
Save Highlight ‘Save’ and press [OK] to save the limit setting.
Save: Highlight ‘Save’ and press the [Left] ([Right]) key, the antenna will turn towards the west (east).
Go to Reference: Highlight ‘Go to Reference’ and press [OK].

The antenna will turn to the reference point and the message ‘Please wait for moving the dish to reference point’ will appear.

System

In the Main Menu, select System to enter the System menu

Language

  1. Language: Set the menu language in this field.
  2. First Audio / Second Audio: Set the default first/second audio language in this field.
  3. Subtitle Language: Set the default subtitle language.
  4. Teletext: Set the default Teletext language.

AV Setting

  • TV System Auto/PAL/NTSC
  • Video Resolution 576p/576i / 720p / 1080i / 1080p
  • Aspect Mode Auto / 4:3LetterBox / 4:3PanScan / 16:9
  • Video Effect Sharpening/ Adaptive/ Soft

Local Time Setting

  1. GMT Usage: Determines whether to use GMT time zone.
  2. GMT Offset: Select a time zone in this field.
  3. Summer Time: Set the summertime in this field.
  4. Date: Set date.
  5.  Time: Set time.

Timer Setting

  1. Select an item in the Time list and press [OK] to enter the Timer Setting menu.
  2. Repeat: Select the timer mode.
  3. Channel: Select a channel that is played when the system is wakened up at the specified time.
  4. Wakeup Date & Start/End Time: Set the date and time when the system should wake up.
  5. Duration: Defines the Event duration.

Parental Lock

  • Select ‘Parental Lock’ in the System Setup menu. A password entering dialog appears, as shown as below. Enter the correct password, and the Parental Lock menu appears.
  • The default common password is ‘0000’. Users can modify the password by themselves. If forgetting the password, users can enter the window using the super password. But the super password cannot be modified by users.

OSD Setting

  • Subtitle Display: Determines whether to display subtitle
  • OSD Timeout: Select the time at which the on-screen menu disappears automatically.
  • OSD Transparency: Select the transparency of the on-screen menu.

Favorite

Select a Favorite Group and press [OK] to enter the Rename menu in which users can modify the Fav Group name.

Other

The on-screen display of Other is setting LNB power and beefer.:

Tools

Select ‘Tools’ in the Main Menu to enter the Tools menu which contains 7 submenu items: Information, Factory Setting, Delete All, RS232 Upgrade, USB Upgrade, and USB Backup.

Information

The version information is displayed in the Information window.

Factory Setting

Enter the correct password. Then the factory settings will be restored.

(The default password is ‘0000’).

Delete All

The on-screen display of Delete All is shown, click [Yes] to delete all channels.

USB Upgrade

  • Copy the upgrade file to the USB’s root directory and insert the USB device.
  • Upgrade Mode: Change the upgrade mode in this field.
  • Upgrade File: Select the upgrade file in this field.
  • Start: Start upgrade.

USB Backup

Function & operation

  • Backup Mode: Only support User DB in Dump mode.
  • Start: Press [OK] to start the backup flow.
  • The file User_DB.bin is generated and saved into the root directory of USB’s first partition.

Game

The on-screen display of the Game is Othello and Tetris.

Media Center

Music Player

  • [OK]: Press [OK] to play the audio file or enter the full-screen play mode.
  • [Fav]: Press [Fav] to add the audio file to the music playlist.
  • Yellow key: Press the Yellow key. A music playlist pops up, as shown as follows:.
  • Blue key: Press it to set the shuffle play modes as shown as follows:
  • Red key: Press it to set the sorting mode: Default, Name (A- Z), Name (Z-A).

Picture Player

[OK]: Play the slide in full screen. When playing the slide:

Press [Pause] / [Play] key to pause or continue the slide show. Press [Left/Right] to rotate the slide picture.
Press [Up/Down] to switch to the previous or next picture. Press [Exit] to exit from the slide show mode.

Fav]: Press [Fav] to add the pictures to the slide playlist..

Blue key: Press it to set the slide show parameters.

Slide show Time: Select the interval time between two slide pictures.

Slide Show Repeat: Select whether to play the slide pictures circularly in the slide show mode.

Red key: Press it to set the sorting mode: Default, Name (A-Z), and Name (Z-A).

Movie Player

The on-screen display of Movie Player is shown as follows: Movie Player Preview Menu:

Record Manager

[OK]: Press [OK] to play the program.

Green key: Press the Green key. A password entering dialog appears. Enter the correct password ‘0000’ to lock the recorded program or unlock the program.

Blue key: Press it to delete the program. Red key: Press it to rename the program.

[Menu]/[Exit]: Press it to exit from the current window.

HDD Information

The USB capacity information is displayed in the HDD Information window.

Storage Format

In the Storage Format menu, users can select the USB partition and format it.

DVR Configuration

Timeshift: Determines whether to turn on the Timeshift function.

Jump: Set the time step for the jump. Each time when users press the [Left/Right] key once, the pausing DVR file will jump forward/backward over a step defined in the ‘Jump’ field.

In addition, when Timeshift is enabled, users can press [Left]/[Right] to select the playback time point. In this case, when users press [Left]/[Right] once, the playback point of the DVR file will jump forward/backward a step defined in the ‘Jump’ field.

DVR Partition: Select the default partition. After selecting a partition, the file cached by Timeshift and the recorded file will be saved into this partition by default.

Timeshift description: When a program is being played, the program data can be caught by Timeshift.
