You must be well aware that change is the rule of the world. There was a time when the manufacturers of analog radio and analog CRT TV felt that there was no one like them in this business. People also felt that if we have a radio capable of receiving MW/SW in our house, and if not color, then at least a black and white TV, then there is no one as respectable as us in society. When neighbors used to come to their houses to watch and listen to TV and radio, they used to feel proud that we have something different, and we are special in society, then Cable TV was also introduced after few time.
But then gradually the time changed, today people’s MW/SW radios and black and white TVs are lying in some dark room of theirs, they have sold them for scrap.
Now the same time is changing again, it has changed to a great extent in the cities. Now people have started replacing their old LED TVs with smart TVs. In this TV, even if you do not take any connection to DTH or cable TV, you still get thousands of means of entertainment, like you can download any application (OTT App) and get entertainment through its free or paid service.

Fear of cable TV ending –
Till some time ago, this illusion was spread among the cable operators that their connections are being cut due to DD Free Dish or PAID DTH, but now this illusion is slowly getting cleared and they have started understanding that the reason for their connections getting reduced is not DD Free dish and PAID DTH but YouTube, which is available in Smart TV.
However, cable TV isn’t completely disappearing just yet.

Illusion of DD Free Dish or PAID DTH –
This illusion has been spread by those people who hate the Modi government, such people created pages in the name of cable operators on Facebook and other social media, they added all the cable operators, and then they instigated the cable operators against DD Free Dish or PAID DTH. Due to this illusion, most of the cable operators could not understand the coming change. They thought Modi’s Digitization was just a joke or a lie.
But those who were not under any illusion changed their business from cable operator to internet service provider. So people who had smart TVs needed internet service providers and this business is still growing.
OTT Business Illusion –
Now a new illusion is being spread by the same people that OTT Platform is the future, but I am not able to accept this completely, rather it seems to me as if the big shark will completely destroy the small fishes i.e. cable operators. Since this illusion is currently available in the environment, you will not understand it, but save this post, the truth will be in front of you after a year or two from today. As long as people get content for free, OTT business will not be completely successful in the future. Yes, it is better to do something than to do nothing. But it is uncertain.
What to do now?
Try to become an internet service provider along with your cable TV business. Because if people buy a smart TV, they will definitely get an internet connection. There is no option to get unlimited internet, but the biggest option for OTT is YouTube which is available for free. On which you can watch original content along with artificial content. And soon XTV is also going to be launched, which has been announced recently by Elon Musk.
So provide internet service, don’t get into OTT, if your competitor is providing OTT service with internet for free in your area, you may be forced to do the same. Now you have to distribute your profit money for free.
Since times are changing, talk to your customers who have disconnected cable TV, take feedback from them, and then plan for the future.
