As you know The central government recently announced that the trials of the Direct-to-Mobile (D2M) technology, developed by Saankhya Labs and IIT Kanpur, will soon be held in 19 cities.
This technique will enable mobile users to stream videos on their smartphones without any internet connection, just like traditional FM radio.
The d2m technology will use the 470MHz-582MHz spectrum where The FM band is 20MHz wide, from 88MHz to 108MHz. Otherside the DVB-T2 service was running 538MHz to 578MHz frequencies in Delhi.

What will be next? –
All the smartphones that support FM Radio broadcasting may come with new FM radio applications that will also broadcast live TV channels.
Devices –
All FM radios will be available with TV screens or video output like HDMI, or AV.
Signal –
You may use your headphone wire as an antenna. Just connect with your smartphone and enjoy FM Radio and live TV channels.
However –
it will not be possible because you would typically need separate bands like a TV for UHF broadcast and an FM radio for VHF broadcast.
So the above trick “What will be next? ” will not work. 🙂
