Requirement

  1. 2 Ku band Dish antenna of sizes minimum of 60 cm and 75 cm respectively
  2. 2 Ku-Band DTH LNB preferably with 0.1 noise, and min 60db power.
  3. a DiSEqC switch, with 4×1 or 8×1 ports
  4. a set-top box with DiSEqC 1.0 or 1.2 function.

Process of installation:

  1. First of all, install both the dth antenna firmly with a base.
  2. Track satellite GSAT 15 on the first dth antenna
  3. Track the SES 12 satellite on the second dth antenna for receiving Sri Lankan Free-To-Air TV channels on the freedth box.
  4. After receiving signals from both satellites, now connect both dth antennae with the DiSEqC switch and RG6 Cable as shown below picture –
  5. Now in the set-top box select two satellites, or create two satellites in the installation menu.
  6. Now under antenna setup, set the LNB freq as universal (9750-10600) for both.
  7. If you have fitted the first DTH antenna to LNB 1 in the DiSEqC Switch near the antenna and the second DTH antenna to LNB 2, then inside the set-top box also put the same port in the setting of the first satellite whose signal you want to receive. Is. Means LNB 1 in Switch = port 1 or LNB 1 in set-top box top only.
  8. Now scan both the satellite individually or together if a multi-satellite search option is available.

after the scan is carried out successfully, you may watch both satellite FTA channels together in the single set-top box. The same trick may be used for the C-Band Dish antenna.

Note – This post was very old, in which we told how to run DD Freedth and ABS free dish on the single set-top box. Today we have updated it from ABS to SES 12 as ABS1 has been discontinued. Now you can do this trick for other satellites.
