ISRO successfully launched its 5th satellite GSAT29 of 2018 on Wednesday  (14/11/2018). GSAT29 satellite is India’s highest weighted satellite about 3423 kilogram ever sent by India.

GSAT29 Satelite Main Highlights

  • GSLV launched with the help of Mac-3 rocket GSAT-29 satellites.
  • The world’s second largest booster S200 was used in this launch.
  • North-Eastern states will be in communication with Jammu and Kashmir.
  • GSAT29 satellite, weighing about 3423 kg, is the heaviest satellite ever sent from India.
  • Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launches GSLV-MK-III D2 carrying GSAT-29 satellite from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. GSLV-MK-III D2 carrying GSAT-29 satellite, launches successfully from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) successfully launched the GSAT-29 satellite with the help of GSLV Mak-3 rocket on 14-11-2018.This launch was done from Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota. Very soon this satellite will be installed in geo-stationary orbit. GSAT-29 satellite will work for 10 years after launch. After launch, it has been established in Geo Stationary Orbit (GSO), 36,000 km away from Earth. This will help transfer high speed data to remote areas of India.

ISRO successfully launched New Satellite GSAT-29

The Mac-3 rocket used the world’s second largest booster S200 to carry India’s most heavily satellite to launched from India’s land. This is a hythroputic communication satellite. GSAT-29 satellite will be use to provide high speed internet and communication services to Jammu and Kashmir with North Eastern States.

This particular satellite is going to provide services to remote place in India, especially in J&K & northeast India under Digital India program of Government of India:K Sivan Chairman ISRO said on twitter after successful launch of GSLV-MK-III D2 carrying GSAT-29 satellite from SDSC in Sriharikota.

Credit must go to Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) team. Let me congratulate entire team for this wonderful achievement: K Sivan, Chairman ISRO said on twitter on successful launch of GSLV-MK-III D2 carrying GSAT-29 satellite from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota

The most remarkable part of this rocket is that it is fully made in India. This whole project has taken 15 years. The height of this rocket is equal to the 13th floor building and it can launch up to four tonnes of satellites. In its first flight, the rocket delivered the 3423 kilograms of satellite to its orbit. This rocket has a new cryogenic engine prepared with indigenous technology, in which liquid oxygen and hydrogen are used as fuel.
