The unicable LNB is a new method for distributing satellite television. Several receivers (currently up to 32) can be connected to only one single chain which is not possible with a conventional satellite distribution.

What is Unicable LNB –

The Uni-cable LNB enables installations with up to 32 satellite receivers connected over a single coax cable. The Uni-cable LNB offers full flexibility of channel selection and supports many more set-top-boxes over existing cabling thus significantly reducing cost and simplifying installations at subscribers’ homes. The LNB can be powered over a connected STB or by an AC/DC adapter over a power inserter in case the STB is unable to provide the necessary power. Now C-Band and Ku-Band both bands LNBs are available in Unicable. So that it can help to distribute connections in hotels, multi rooms, Offices, Cable TV Control Rooms,s and TV showrooms. We can understand the Unicable technology as a Single Cable Distribution or Single Solution LNB. Single Cable Solution is a satellite technology that enables the delivery of broadcast programming (Satellite Signals) to multiple set-top boxes over a single coaxial cable.

Band Availability:

Single cable solution LNB is now available for both bands (Ku-Band and C-Band). Now, most hotels and buildings use these LNBs. It is available in many popular brands like Inverto, Solid, etc. Unicable LNB enables installations with up to 32 satellite receivers

How to use it?

Example – If you have Uni-cable LNB then you have to install a single wire from the dish antenna to your room, then you can distribute the connection by using a splitter or set-top box LOOP. This LNB has Unicable technology which will distribute H/V signals to every set-top box at the same time. There is no H/V power-switching problem. So this Uni-cable LNB is very useful for hotels and big homes. But make sure your set-top box should support Unicable LNB. To check this setting go to set-top box system settings and satellite settings then see LNB types.

Supported Set-Top Box –

If you want to know whether your Set-Top box is supported for Unicable LNB or not. then you can check these options in LNB Type.

LNB Type :

  • Universal (09750-10600)
  • Standard LNB (05150-05150)
  • Unicable LNB / Custom
