The locking feature in the set-top box is available in most of the set-top boxes, hence in this post, we will give information about the lock feature of the set-top box.

Channel locking type –

Locking only one channel –

This function comes in most paid DTH or cable TV set-top boxes. If you feel that there is a channel that your children or family should not watch for any reason. So you can lock that particular channel. All other TV channels can be watched as before.

Locking some channels –

This function also comes in most Paid DTH or Cable TV set-top boxes. If you feel that there are TV channels that your children or family should not watch for any reason. So you can select and lock those channels. All other TV channels can be watched as before.

Locking all channels except one –

Broadcasters use this function in their set-top boxes in which they lock one of their satellite or Internet TV channels and give it to the IPTV or cable operator so that when the box is on, only one of their channels is played.

But skipping channels –

No matter what type of lock is there in any set-top box, if there is no skip feature then consider that set-top box is useless for me because, with the skip feature, I put those channels in the skip list that are not subscribed. And if you move the channel back and forth, the TV channels with skips get skipped. We like this feature the most. So if you are also buying a set-top box then you can buy it after understanding the lock-and-skip feature.
