Sun Direct is India’s premium direct to home service, Recently Sun Direct DTH declared new Network capacity fees for its existing and new sun direct customers. It is one of the biggest offers provided by a direct-to-home service.
The biggest change by Sun Direct is the reduction of the network capacity fee (NCF) charge that is levied on each subscription.

What is present NCF in Sun Direct?
Now Network Capacity Fee for each set-top box payable monthly by a subscriber up to initial 200 SD channels is Rs 59/- inclusive of applicable taxes.

New NCF charges for multi-connection of Sun Direct –
Network Capacity Fee per month for each additional TV connection in a multiple TV
a) Rs.23.60 inclusive of applicable taxes (i.e. 40% of the primary connection) for up initial 200 SD channels.
b) Rs.23.60 inclusive of applicable taxes (i.e. 40% of the primary connection) for more than 200 SD channels.
What are NCF charges?
I think It Is a big blunder for subscribers that “subscribers will pay only for those TV channels which they are watching”. The news channels informed subscribers that now every DTH and Cable TV subscriber can save money to avoid unwanted TV channels available in their subscription pack, and what happened now?
What was the problem?
After new TRAI rules, Cable TV and DTH companies are forcing its subscribers to pay Rs.130+Tax ( about Rs.150) for 200 free-to-air SD TV channels (Which may be unwanted for everyone). So now If you want to watch one pay-TV channel then you will pay Rs.150 + MRP for 1 TV channel. Does it make sense? No. see how
Earlier the same subscriber was getting 100+ free-to-air TV channels + 50+ pay channels at Rs.100-180 only.
But finally,
Sun Direct DTH understands it and reduced NCF charges for its subscribers. In my view, it is an honest business policy and loyalty with current subscribers or new customers.
