Yes, You can receive DD Direct Plus and ABS Freedish together. Here are simple steps to combine both DTH FTA channels in the single set-top box.

Installation –

First, install two Dish antennae, one is for DD Direct Plus satellite TV signal, and install second is a DTH antenna for receiving ABS1 satellite TV signals.

Merge Antenna –

Now you can merge both satellite TV signals using DiSEqC Switch. You can buy two DiSEqC Switches to merge DTH signals.

Scan TV Channels –

Now go to your set-top box menu. Just go to the satellite list. You can rename the satellite first as a DD Direct Plus and 2nd satellite renamed as ABS1 DTH.

Merge Signals –

Do not forget to give separate LNB port numbers for both satellites. Check your Dish antenna and DiSEqC connection.

Use LNB1 port for DD Direct Plus antenna

and

Use LNB2 Port for ABS1 satellite antenna

and the same setting should be in the set-top box satellite list settings.

Select DD Direct Plus satellite and give LNB port 1

and same

Select ABS1 Satellite and give LNB Port 2

Now select both satellite and blind scan for FTA channels only.

Wait for a few minutes, now you will enjoy FTA channels from both satellites.

 

Note: It is an old post. now ABS Freedish is shut down. Only a few Christian TV channels are available on the ABS1 satellite Indian feed.
