How to Install or Scan SOLID HDS2X-8181 Box?
So let’s scan this box after connecting the satellite antenna cable with the box.
Switch on your set-top box and you will see the screen the same as the below image.
Just click the first option “Installation”

Now you will see given below window with lots of satellite names. So just click anyone satellite according to your Dish antenna.
If you are using the DTH antenna then select any satellite with Universal LNB (09750-10600).
If you are connecting the C-Band dish antenna then select any satellite with LNB type “Standard LNB (05150).
If you are using a small DTH antenna to receive DD Free dish TV channels, then you should choose “93.50, G-SAT 15” satellite for DD Freedish channels.
Now “Press” the “Blue” button from your remote to scan your FTA satellite receiver.
SOLID HDS2-8181 Set-Top Box Satellite List – Installation
Now you will see another Window to confirm some settings. Just make some changes according to given below image and Search free-to-air “TV channels”.
Although my dish antenna was tuned to Yahasat at 52.5 east for Arabic TV channels so I have selected “Yahasat Satellite”.
To scan your set-top box, just Press Blue Button from your remote and you will see given below window “Satellite Search” –
You can change the settings as shown in below screen –
Scan type – Single Satellite Search (You can scan multiple dish antenna by using DiseQec Switch).
Satellite: Here you can check the name of your satellite which you have selected previously.
FTA Only: Yes / Mo (Yes for free-to-air TV channels and No for All TV channels)
Scan Channels: TV Channels / Radio Channels (which channels you want to search)
Scan Mode: Blind / Present ( Blind Search if you don’t know the frequency of the satellite, Present for frequency (TP) filled in the box)
SOLID 8181 Set-Top Box – Satellite Search – Installation
Now, wait for a few minutes till 100% the complete process of STB scanning. After finish the search, you will see search result massage ” Search finished! found XXX TV channels, XXX radio channels”.
If your dish antenna set to correct location or getting satellite signals then you will see a free-to-air TV channels list.
