Yes, this SOLID HDS2X-8181 and HDS2-2100DLX TV box has the DLNA function, by using it you can watch content available on your mobile. We will let you know how you can watch programs by using your mobile. It requires the same network connection to watch videos or movies from your mobile.

Just press the “Menu button” and go to “System” as in the below image.

Now you will see the “System” window, Just click on “Network Config” to connect your mobile hotspot to your set-top box. (to enable this function, an External Wi-Fi adapter is required to plug in your box USB port)

Now you can see the “Network Config” window to connect your box with the mobile hotspot or the internet.

Here you will find 3 options in HDS2X-8181 Box –

Wifi – (if you are using an external Wifi Adapter)
3G – (This feature is not supported now)
LAN – (You can connect the LAN Network cable directly from the modem or router to the box.

I am using an external Wifi adapter to connect my box to my mobile by using a hotspot. I just clicked on this Wifi and searched the Wifi network. It finds my mobile hotspot “Mobile Hotspot” and I have selected this network and entered my hotspot password. You can see that my mobile is connected successfully to my box. You can check the network status: connected in green.

After a network connection, now you can watch free movies and music from “YouTube” by using your mobile data, the app is already built into the box.

If you don’t want to consume your mobile data, then return to the main menu. and select DLNA in the right corner. Now you will see the below window. To activate the DLNA function, just press the “OK” button from your remote.

Now you have to download applications on your smartphone from the Google play store, you can download anyone which is mentioned on the screen.

Supported applications are :

  • Tubio
  • TV Assist
  • Video Cast
  • 8 Player lite
  • Player Xtreme

I have installed the “Tubio” application because by using this application I can play YouTube, Dailymotion, and offline videos directly from my mobile.

How do you use the Tubio application with the HDS2X-8181 box?

Just Install the “Tubio” application from the Google play store.
Open the Tubio application. Now you will see the below screen. You can play videos from these sites directly on your TV. In the right corner, you are also looking “TV symbol” with a right-click. Just click on that.

If your mobile and Set-top box are connected to the same network then you will find these two options.

1- STB_S2X_442A :
If you select this option, all the videos will be played on your TV screen.
2- Local playback :
If you select this option, all the videos will be playing on your mobile screen.

So just select the first option, browse videos from online sites and offline devices, and click play and enjoy watching mobile content on TV screens.
