Sun Network is a famous television broadcaster in India that broadcasts entertainment, movies, music, and news content in the languages of Southern India through other TV channels. This Sun Neo is a new Hindi GEC channel owned by Sun Network.
Currently, Doordarshan Prasar Bharti is auctioning MPEG-2 slots in 75th e-auction for its free DTH service, and in this auction, Sun Network has booked a slot for its new Hindi entertainment TV channel “SUN Neo”. It will be available on DD Free Dish on April 1, 2024. Because Sun TV Network already booked a mpeg-2 slot in Bucket A+ for this channel, which includes Hindi GECs. The slot is allotted for one year from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025.
This is not only good news for the viewers of DD Freedish, but at the same time, it is going to be a big shock for those TV channels or those TV networks, which were once among the best or most popular Hindi entertainment TV channels on DD Freedish. Because those TV channels themselves had left this huge space by boycotting DD Freedish.
You can understand that just as today most of the Hindi movie channels show South’s dubbed films the most because South’s films are most liked by the Hindi audience. It is possible that Sun Neo will show South’s popular shows dubbed in Hindi or bring a revolution by showing some new content to DD Freedish users.
Let us tell you that currently because of DD Freedish, according to BARC rating, Dangal TV is the number one channel in the country, and later South’s entertainment TV channels come in this top ten list.
The Sun Neo channel will be also available in HD/SD form on pay television platforms like Cable TV, OTT, and DTH platforms, and the free SD version will be available for DD Free dish viewers same as the Sun Marathi channel.
